"Constrained Control"

All real world control systems are required to operate whilst ensuring that various constraints are satisfied. For example, input signals are usually limited in amplitude and rate of change. Similarly, it may be necessary to impose constraints on internal system variables for safety or other operational reasons.

This lecture will give an introduction to the subject of constrained control. Recent research results will be summarized and the work will be illustrated by a practical problem related to rudder roll stabilization of ships.
