Abstract: A description is given of the resolution
of two questions on rotating liquid drops. The first
question dates back to experiments of Plateau
(1843) . The second question relates both to certain
aspects of lunar soil samples brought back from
the moon in the late 1960s on Apollo 11 and also
to experiments performed by T. G. Wang (1985)
in Spacelab 3 aboard the Challenger space shuttle.
